Meteor Adverts: .

Recently the phone company Meteor has run a series of television commercials, advertising there cheap international calls to the USA and to the UK. No doubt Meteor are hoping to cash in on the amount of Irish people emigrating. Both ads show one friend in Ireland ringing their friend who has left the country. In both ads the person receiving the call is portrayed as well dressed, well spoken and successful, while on the other hand the person in Ireland is shown to be an inane idiot. Is Meteor making a commentary on the youth of the nation, they seem to be saying "only an idiot wouldn't emigrate". Here are the offending ads.
